Yncréa Hauts-de-France is recruiting a Post Doctoral Researcher at the interface between Biology and microsystems.
This position is funded by an Interreg-2-Seas project (H4DC) which includes partners from France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. As the only French Academic Partner, Yncrea/ CNRS/IEMN are in charge of developing a microsystem to study the Cryptosporidium parasite.
A prototype was developed in our lab which demonstrated the ability to use impedance spectroscopy to monitor the parasite’s effect on a cell layer. (Dibao-Dina et al ., Biosens Bioelectron. 2015 Apr 15;66:69-76). The aim of the postdoctoral researcher will be to evolve the design of this system and fabricate a version which enable this approach to be used in 96 well plate’s format. This will make it possible for our partners to perform high throughput screening of antiparasitic drugs.
A PhD student based in our lab will also conduct tests with this device and help validate it.
The PostDoc will be recruited by the YNCREA group but will work in the IEMN (Institute for Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology) laboratory as a member of the BioMEMS research team.
- PhD in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, microfabrication, microfluidics or micro-systems for Biology.
The candidate will ideally :
- Have a solid track record (with publications) at the biology-microsystems interface
- Have a cleanroom and microfabrication experience
- Be able to program instruments to automate data acquisition (in labview for example).
- Be able to work with computer scientists to help develop an automated data processing software
- Be curious and able to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Work in a safe and rigorous way in the biology lab with pathogenic parasites.
A proven record of supervision and good communication skills will be an advantage.
